For Parents of Children with Asthma:
New Jersey State Law requires students with asthma to have an
Asthma Treatment Plan on file with the School Nurse.
An Asthma Action Plan is a written, individualized worksheet that shows you the steps to take to keep your asthma from getting worse. It also provides guidance on when to call your healthcare provider or when to go to the emergency room.
An asthma action plan is an important tool to share with caregivers of children with asthma, including daycare providers, schools and aftercare programs.
The asthma treatment plan is available on the American Lung Association website.
